Description
We loved writing and teaching this lesson and hope you and your students enjoy it as well! Children will enjoy learning and singing about loud and soft in music to Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks; will enjoy a fun dynamics matching game; will march in their own loud and soft instrument parade; will be introduced to John Philip Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever; will learn to play a pre-staff notation piece on the piano; will compose their own piece using forte and piano notes; will be introduced to Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture; will go on a magical musical adventure to a fireworks show; and will have fun learning all about dynamics through song, play, movement, listening and art.
Children in our Mighty Musicians music classes will experience and learn about music through listening, singing, movement and play, and will also use their newfound knowledge to work on their basic piano skills. Students will also learn about the great composers and their music, and have the opportunity to do some composing themselves! This class is appropriate for children who have taken the Early Explorers class, have had some piano or music experience, or for those who may not have had a class in the past but are eager to learn and get a jumpstart into music!
